Because this backyard was mostly in shade, the owner couldn't get the grass to grow. He was wasting money maintaining and watering it. We came up with a plan to install pet turf. The short pipe was more conducive to his small children and for a future puppy.
With correct communication with the owner, we were able to manifest his vision for this beautiful putting green in his back yard.
We informed the owner of this pre-school that he had a choice of sawcutting the asphalt and installing base and then the turf, or installing an air drain on top of the asphalt, which would create a 1" platform. The best decision was to keep the turf even with the asphalt.
City of Paramount had a parkway around the Elk's Lodge with a ton of tree roots so the grass would not grow. We installed the turf over the roots as best as possible ( cutting the roots would kill the trees). It was difficult but we made it work.
